Chester Performs is the new organisation driving the development of the performing arts in Chester and Cheshire. They aim to broaden horizons and raise the level of expectation in performing arts practice in and around the region. Their main activities are:
- The development of a new Performing Arts Centre in Chester.
- Develop partnerships and networks which will be sustained long beyond the opening of the Centre.
- Undertake a three-year audience development programme between 2007 and 2010 to excite audiences for the future Performing Arts Centre.

Mission Statement: "Chester Performs aims to be a dynamic contributor to Chester’s rich cultural life. It will provide innovative, challenging, enjoyable and affordable arts events, activities and projects within an exciting and accessible environment"
Staff: Chester Performs is made up of a team of arts professionals who work alongside a Board which comprises representatives of key arts organisations operating in the city and individuals from the local business community and government bodies.
